1930'S PLAYSKOOL PULLMAN "SLEEP, DOLLY, SLEEP" COACH WITH LEATHER HANDLE & SNAP Has original chair pads-6, 2 blankets, 2 pc. set of curtains, 2-mattress pads, 1 pillow, and 1 table (removable). LOOK AT PICTURES CAREFULLY. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET! United States, C1930, Extremely rare 1930's vintage, wonderfully detailed maroon enameled tin toy depicting one compartment on train, It is in the shape of a box which opens for play. The embossed facade is marked in gold lettering "PLAYSKOOL PULLMAN, SLEEP-DOLLY-S LEEP-A756." Designed by a preschool teacher in the late 1920s and made around 1930, the Playskool Pullman was reportedly manufactured for only a year, before the Great Depression put a stop to the toy's production. VERY RARE! The back of the box folds down on metal hinges to show a Porter's Compartment with hinged door where bedding is stored; then a passenger compartment with two clear celluloid windows (original). A fold-down table (removable) and fold-down upper berth complete with the original mattresses and 1 pillow, ORIGINAL LEATHER HANDLE marked "PAT NO 1609899" for carrying and locking case, measures approx. 9-1/2"x 11-1/2"x 5" .
