1930's Toaster SunBeam T-9 VINtage MINT Sun Beam Description From the mid-1930s to the 40s, "The lovely oval design is the last word in modern styling by George Scharfenberg" (from an advertisement). It truly is wonderfully designed, and, for many years, Kellogg's used an animated T-9 to help sell its Pop-Tarts toaster pastries. This is the very famous Sunbeam T-9 Toaster, possibly the most popular model ever made. The lines etched on the front and back of the toaster are symbolic of the 1939 New York World's Fair. The T-9 was issued in that year and used this device to tag onto the popularity of the event. The T-9 was immortalized by Norman Rockwell in his October 30, 1948 cover for The Saturday Evening Post. Also the Sunbeam T-9 is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art - The handles and base is made of Bakelite - Controls for Light/Dark as well as "keeps toast warm" or "pops toast up" - Easy to open crumb tray - Engraved in the bottom: Sunbeam Model T-9 MADE IN UNITED STATES AMERICA CHICAGO FLEXIBLE SHAFT CO. - CHICAGO PAT-187-201 DES.PAT.107552 - OTHER PATENTS PENDING - VOLTS 110-120 - WATTS 1100 - Also voltage adjustment on bottom - Toaster in Mint Condition Measurments Height 7 1/2" - Length 8" - Width 5" PaymentPayPal Check Money Order Shipping We Ship Internationally Cost 6.95 USPS Priority UPS Available Apon Request (Shipping Cost May Vary)
