MEADOW GOLD Quart-size Glass Cream-Top Milk Bottle 1940s - WWII era FOR VICTORY BUY UNITED STATES SAVINGS BONDS AND STAMPS Front side reads "Dairy Products MEADOW GOLD Pasteurized" in applied red letters, and below that is embossed in the glass "Mar. 17 -31" I would take this to mean the patent date of the bottle design, not the date the bottle was actually produced. Because of the reference to Savings Bonds and Stamps, which were a WWII promotion, I would place the date of the bottle to be from the 1940s. Reverse side reads "For Victory Buy United States Savings Bonds and Stamps" in applied red letters and below that is embossed in the glass "Please Return This Bottle / Sealed 1-11-14" (I do not know what this dated refers to.) Overall condition of bottle is very good. T is one tiny chip on the bottom edge of the bottle; no other chips or cracks. On the surface, t are are some minor rubs and minor tiny scratches but the applied lettering is still in great condition with very little fading.
