This massive, 464-page Makio, Japanese for "Magic Mirror," is the official student yearbook of The Ohio State University for 1932. This edition is Volume LI or number 51. Originally produced by fraternities on campus, it evolved into an outlet for commentaries by students about campus, faculty, and life in general. The book includes art work, essays, and poetry as well. As it became easier to include photographs in publications, the Makio also became the pictorial history of campus. The first yearbook was published in 1880. It was not published in 1881 and from 1995-2000. The editions since have been published by the juniors of the Ohio State University in Columbus . The books contains: Many full-page sepia photographs of OSU campus buildings, familiar campus scenes such as Mirror Lake , stadiums, and other landmarks; Lots of superb pen and ink drawings under onionskin flysheets and colorized illustrations, which are the signed work of artist and illustrationist Charles A.
