Up for auction is a large lot of monographs by the Manhattan Project biophysicist Raymond Elliott Zirkle (1902-1988) with some signed by him.Zirkle was one of the leading biophysicists of his day, and a principal on the Manhattan Project, where his research was devoted to measuring the biological effects of nuclear radiation on living tissue. This lot of original offprints represents a significant portion of his scholarly output before, during and after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
