For fastest processing of your order, please use Vendio Checkout! c.1932 Real Photo Postcard Mormon Fort Las Vegas/unused Album An unused near fine condition real photo postcard entitled on negative "U.S. Testing Plant Bouilder Dam Project Las Vegas, Nev." . The original fort built by the Mormons in 1855 consisted of an adobe enclosure, 150 feet on each side, with towers or bastions at the northwest and southeast corners. The adobe building closest to the creek is the only surviving part of this structure. The other walls seen are reconstructions. The building was used at the time of this photograph as a testing lab and office for the United States Bureau of Reclamation, which leased and renovated the building in 1929 during the construction of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam. The photo shows the lab in c.1932 . On verso is a pencilled description that has been erased. Impression of paperclip visible (not rusted) on top edge middle of postcard.
