THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE BIDDING FOR: This week and in the coming weeks, I will be liquidating a large part of my extensive Leica collection, and here's a fine Leica III (also known as the Leica Model F) 35mm coupled rangefinder camera, a rare early black and nickel example sold through Tiranty of France (you can see the stamp along the front of the baseplate), made by Leitz of Germany around 1932 (serial number 1112xx), fitted with a matching nickel Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3.5 normal lens. It could probably benefit from some basic maintenance because it tends to stick when firing on the slower speeds (although it's rapidly improving with "exercise", so maybe it just needs a chance to wake up from "retirement"), but it's otherwise in excellent used condition, featuring nicely preserved black enamel finish, perfect original Vulcanite covering without any cracks or chips that has mellowed to a rich dark brown, accurate contrasty rangefinder, and lively consistent shutter action in the faster speeds. The lens is also experienced, with the usual wipe marks and some subtle internal mist, but still usable with smooth focus and spotless diaphragm. A rare Tiranty stamped black beauty in gorgeous shape! Wow! Take a look: WHEN THE AUCTION ENDS: I'll send the winning bidder an invoice through eBay's e-mail notification system as soon as my auctions
