Up for sale is a 1933/34 Dixie Beer tray. The square tray is large at 13 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches. It pictures a beautiful blonde bar maid serving a glass of beer on a tray. The top graphic says "Dixie" and the bottom graphic says "The Beer That Speaks For Itself." The iconic Dixie Brewing Company of New Orleans, Louisiana started in 1907 and was destroyed by hurricane Katrina ( huge tragedy). The beer is now brewed in Monroe, Wisconsin. The tray is in good condition for it's age. It seems not many of this tray have lasted the test of time in this condition. There is paint loss and a dent at 3 o' clock on the inner front rim - I include a picture of the dent as seen from the back. There is paint loss above the letter S on the word Speaks at 6 o' clock. There are some white speck paint loss on the lower front outer rim. There are specks of paint loss throughout the outer rim front and back. There are some blue specks in the upper left background in the front quadrant.and one white speck in the background front at 4 o' clock. There are some specks of paint loss around the letter X in the word Dixie. There is a very fine scratch on the girl's chin only visible upon magnification. The back has scratches, paint loss and some rust. The pictures clearly show the condition. This tray is pictured on p. 139 of the Beer Tray book by Gary Straub in a round version with another company. I have tried to sell this tray with reserve in the past, but this is a NO RESERVE auction. Satisfaction is gauranteed and money back within 7 days for reasons other than described. This tray is a rare gem and will be a top shelf addition to your collection. Don't let this pass you by as the tray will not be sold in this condition very often. !
