Part of the 1933 World's Fair, the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, better known as A&P, was the world's largest retailer with more than 16,000 stores. Of 34 coins graded by NGC, only seven were graded higher than this coin.As a measure of rarity, So-Called Dollars , First Edition, by Hibler, Harold E., and Kappen, Charles V., Coin & Currency Institute, New York, 1963, refers to both cows and pigs as "Very Scarce."
