This auction offers 2 extremely scarce – if not rare examples of the 1930s IVES / LIONEL transitional “O” gauge litho tinplate toy railroad train cars. The vast number of these cars were produced in a red color body, with standard 4 wheel trucks – The rarer cars were in blue with silver roof , and the rarest, were red or maroon body with 6 wheel trucks. – Here offered is the scarcest color with standard 4 wheel trucks. – They are the LIONEL marked Pullman #1685 and the LIONEL marked #1687 Observation car. I have tried to picture each car in all aspects so that you can see for yourself what, in the way of TLC these two cars will need to upgrade their condition – The overall shells are in pretty nice – (cleanable) condition. Upgrades and replacements for all pieces are readily available at relatively little cost, as all unmarked Ives parts are correct. Starting at minimum with NO RESERVE – Thanks for your interest!
