Joan 584 MM-38 has a 1933 registry. I believe it was the 24th pattern made by Noritake. The stamp on the back is a redesigned "M-in-wreath", which is the forerunner of the Noritake stamp now in use, see picture. Not all Pattern # 584, Joan are marked with the name. is a brief description of the pattern. The china is trimmed with a gold edge. The border has a blue-green and pale orange-yellow border with some tan outlines. The background is cream with orange-yellow scallops in center. The center is white. The floral sprays are yellow, pink, blue, and green. The 84 piece set includes, the following: 11 - 10" Dinner Plates (one plate has a minor chip), 11 - 7 5/8" Salad Plates, 12 - 6 1/2" Bread and Butter Plates, 11 - 5 7/8" Fruit/Dessert (sauce) Bowls, 12 - 7 ½" Soup/Coupe Bowl, 8 - 2 1/8"Cups (footed) - 6 of cups have minor wear on handles and have small chips. and 11 - Saucers. Serving dishes are a follows: 1 - 3 ¼" (8 oz) Creamer, 1 - 3 ½" Sugar Bowl and Lid, 1 - 10 ¾" Oval Vegetable Bowl, 1 - 10" Round Vegetable Bowl with divider in center, 1 - 9" Round Covered Vegetable Bowl with Lid, 1 - 11 ¾" Oval Serving Platter, 1 - 16 ¼" Oval Serving Platter and 1 - 8 3/4" Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate.
