George Burke Biography Chicago native George Burke is considered to be one of Baseball's Legendary Sport Photographers, amassing one of the greatest photographic archives in the history of t he golden era. From the mid 1920�s through the late 1940�s Burke stood out among some of the world�s most credited photographers of the era. Burke, who was the team photographer for the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, captured on film every major league ballplayer that came through Chicago, including such heroes as Babe Ruth, Hack Wilson, Honus Wagner, Joe DiMaggio and Satchel Paige, as well as lesser known players who had brief stints in the majors.
