1934 Jennings Duchess 5c Mint Vender Slot Machine! Up for auction with NO reserve is a beautiful original Jennings Duchess nickel slot machine! This example was made at the Jennings Chicago factory in 1934. It was made with the desirable front mint vender option. On each pull of the handle the player can then turn the handle on the lower front right and receive a full package of mints! This neat option works perfectly.The Jennings Duchess was made at the same time as the popular Little Duke. Both of these machines were made at a time when the Jennings company was at a low in the midst of the depression. Previous models recently made by Jennings were not sales successes and they needed a winner bad at this time. By using essentially the same mechanism, Jennings came out at the same time with the Duchess and Little Duke - part of the "Royal Family" of machines. The Duchess is a little larger than the Little Duke, but it is still a smaller counter top machine compared to others at the time. With it's smaller size and weight, it is a popular machine with collectors. It's unique mechanism, great deco looks and ease of play make it a classic Jennings model. If you have a machine that is in need of repair or restoration , please call! The machine is in great original condition with no cracks or breaks. I have personally tuned and lubricated this machine to insure it will work for you perfectly for years to come. All the glass on the machine is free of any cracks. The oak cabinet is also in great condition with the original Jennings decals on both sides. The back of the machine is in great condition as well. The door does have a replacement lock on it, which works just fine. The inside of the machine is complete and in great original condition. The original cash box is present and in great shape. Notice the unique jackpot mechanism this model employed. The original Jennings inspection tag is present on the inside of the cabinet . On the top of the tag is the machines serial number. This number also matches the outside casting number shown above as well. This insures the machines castings and cabinet started out at the Jennings factory together, like a classic cars numbers matching engine. The last two photos above show the mechanism out of the cabinet. As you can see, it is in great original condition. The original fortune reel strips and still in good shape. After a good tune-up, it plays perfectly, with correct payouts and dumps the jackpot when it should! If you have been looking for a fun machine to play and admire, this would be a great choice.
