You are bidding on a 1934 TEXAS INDEPENDENCE CENTENNIAL Commemorative Half Dollar. The coin was bought at a local coin show in Houston, Texas from a dealer. This issue commemorated the independence of Texas in 1836. The first of several dates were struck at all three (3) mints. The models were prepared by Pompeo Coppini. The reverse shows the kneeling figure of winged Victory, and on each side, medallions with portraits of General Sam Houston and Stephen F Austin, founders of the Republic and State of Texas. The large five-pointed star behind the eagle on the obverse carries out the Lone Star tradition. See scans below, FREE SHIPPING. If you want insurance, it will be extra, please ask for it.
