Auction is for a 1934 1st edition of the legendary and rare novel, "Vampire" by Hanns Heinz Ewers. Publisher is John Day and it is a 1st edition. Condition is quite nice as pictures will show. The cover has some black ink spots, and there is a little fading on the spine and insides of the cover. As pictures will show, this is not much of a problem but I feel like I need to address it. Now for a little info on rarity. Ewers was a German author during the 1930's I believe he was a friend of Aleister Crowley (hope I spelled that right). His stuff was strange and not too big here in the States. His books are RARE and outstanding investments. That is especially true with this book if for nothing else than the title alone. Newer copies of his books almost completely sell through on Ebay so this is a real treasure. The dust jacket here is a museum quality COPY or REPLICA. If you choose not to tell your friends, they will never know-it looks that good. This is by far the best affordable copy I have seen in 90 days on Ebay so you may not want to let this one go.
