Swiss gold 20 francs “Helvetias” are one of the most popular European gold coins to own and are often considered to be among the loveliest. Helvetias are an excellent choice for bulk gold investors or collectors, looking for attractive, high quality, gold coins at lower prices. Lovely design, fascinating history The obverse of the Swiss Helvetia depicts “Vreneli,” the charming “Swiss Miss” of proverb, framed against the majestic Alps . In reference to this lovely portrait, Helvetias are sometimes called “Vrenelis.” The reverse has a radiant image of the traditional Swiss arms, featuring the famous Swiss cross, and the wreath of the Republic at the bottom. They also have an edge design of little stars all around the coin. That looks very nice when several are stacked. Swiss currency has never been devalued. Swiss gold coins, like these Helvetias, are cherished worldwide for their fine gold content and excellent minting. This type was issued from 1897 to 1935, then again in 1947 and 1949.
