Ed. 1935 Reproduction Pedre Watch LE #3915/ 10,000 Mint in Box and Never Worn. In 1935 Disney released two prototypes of a Donald Duck watch which never went into production. The first two prototypes were modified versions of Mickey #2. Only the dial and hands were changed to Donald Duck. The watches still had Mickey charms on the strap and Mickey on the sweep second disc at 6:00 . It wasn't until 1990 at a flea market in Brimfield , Massachusetts that the only true finished prototype Donald Duck watch surfaced. This one, in its original packaging, had Donald charms on the band and on the sweep second disc. ONLY 3 KNOWN INGERSOLL PROTOTYPES ARE KNOWN TO EXIST. Back then, Disney felt Donald Duck wasn't popular enough to feature on a watch, so these prototypes never made it to production. Using the finished prototype as a model, The Pedre Company and Disney collaborated to create the ONLY PRODUCTION OF THIS 1935 PROTOTYPE. This has been documented in Comic Character Timepieces by Hy Brown and Nancy Thomas (pp.15 and 23). Limited edition. Only 10,000 made. This watch has a random serial number within that 10,000 engraved on the caseback. Caseback also reads, "Made Exclusively by Pedre for The Disney Store, To Commemorate Donald Duck on His 60 th Birthday". Second hand rotating disc at 6:00 features 3 "running" Donalds. T are 2 die-cut metal Donalds attached to black leather strap. Even the 1930's cardboard box prototype has been reproduced. Comes with original warranty (now expired) and certificate of authenticity. I am the original owner and have never taken the watch out of the box/ it has never been worn. The scratch protective covers are still on the front and back sides of the watch. Comes in the original box. The collectors box is in excellent condition. It has been stored in a cool, dry, smoke free closet/ house. Batteries were removed when I received the watch to protect it. Payment by paypal preferred. USPS money orders and cashiers check will ship as soon as they are deposited and cleared. Payment is due within 7 days of auction close. Shipping is $8.00 via US Postal Priority Mail within the US . I will ship to international locations but will charge exact shipping to be determined after auction ends.
