is a large Philco tombstone radio - model 116B from 1936. It's in found and untested condition. The radio measures 23.375 inches tall by 15.75 inches wide by 12 inches deep. All 11 tubes are intact. The original model number, which I'm guessing was a paper label applied on the inside is gone. I based my information that this is a Philco #116B from doing research at the library and on the web. The number that's stamped on the metal platform reads "U72597." The information stamped on the transformer? located at the front right side reads "Philco; Reg US Pat.; 32-7291N; 6-35." The front dial is an oval shaped with a glass insert. The bands listed are short wave, long wave, ship, aircraft, and police amatuer, and standard broadcast... t may be other listings but the center section of the dial is faded. Overal the wood case is in nice condition having aged with scratches / small nicks, a chip on the top back edge, and minor wear to the finish. T is a missing radio knob. I recently had a collection of old radio knobs, but none would fit. The speaker grill cloth is all torn / ripped. The radio dial with all the band listings is faded in sections with a white residue. The "philco" decal that would have appeared on the front at the top is gone.PLEASE NOTE: This radio is untested and may or may not work. The cord to the plug is frayed. The read more
