Fresh from a local estate come this collection of radio and television toy premiums, I have never personally seen this many in one home before so I would be safe to say that they were collectors. I will be listing all of them over the next 2 weeks until they are gone. Up for auction is this nice premium: RAO (Radio Orphan Annie’s) SS (Secret Society) decoder Pin – This is a collectible item from Little Orphan Annie’s Radio Show from the 1930’s. Decoder badges and memorabilia pins from this radio show started in the year 1935 and this is the SECOND one. The 1936 decoder pin that came as a premium from Ovaltine, Radio Orphan Annie's commercial sponsor. Children who had the decoder pin were encouraged to listen to the radio show, during which they'd receive an encoded message that could only be decoded if one was in possession of that year's decoder pin. The pin changed from year to year, insuring that only current members could decode the secret messages. (And, no doubt, insuring that children would pester their parents to buy Ovaltine.) The pin and the clasp still holds well at the back. Decoder measures just over 1 5/16"x 1 3/4" and there is No damage to report. I also have the 37,and 39 ROA Decoders listed as well. See my other auction listing for more of the same as well as other interesting items. Buyer pays $2.75 for shipping read more
