For Your Collecting Pleasure... Here we have an original 1938 US AMATEUR PLAYERS CONTESTANT BADGE! The Event was held at OAKMONT Country Club that year and is so stated on the Pin/Badge! It is in Outstanding Original Condition and bears the number 25 on the back of the Pin which allows for identification of the player who participated in the Amateur! In this particular instance the player was named Sterling Hitchcock who was a very well known player from Pennsylvania in the 30's and 40's! He played in a few Amateurs over the years!! The Badge also carries the manufacturers stamp of The Robbins Company, Attllboro on the reverse just underneath the pin!! The Brass/Bronze Metal and the Enamels are Perfect! Only the high releaf of the "S" in the USGA Logo in the center of the Badge shows the slightest bit of wear! Other then that... it's just Perfect Folks! A Great ORIGINAL Golfing Collectable ; )!
