1938 boxed set of thirty five recipes created by The American Magazine to promote the debut of Rex Stout's book ' Too Many Cooks '. Only 1000 of these were created and they were given away during Stout's 1938 national tour. The box contains the thrity five loose recipes as well as a greeting from Stout's Nero Wolfe and a menu titled ' The American Magazine living issue luncheon '. The set missing its dustjacket. T are some stains to the front, back and spine of the book. Two small pieces of paper stuck to the front near the bottom. Some rubbing to the gold colored sides of the box and paper residue along the edge. The back of the front board has the name ' Jean Miller ' and ' Paris France 1932 ' written in ink. Also, on the front of the box a small sticker which reads ' Jean's Cook Book '. This is coming loose and can be removed. The title page has a couple stress lines to the edges but this is very minor. Some seperation along the top and bottom to the front interior of the box's hinge. ( see digital photos below ). The box 7 3/8 x 5 1/2 inches and about 7/8's of an inch thick. The interior cards measure 6 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches. I can ship the book priority mail if the buyer likes. US or Canadian buyer same postage costs. International buyers are welcome.
