1938 - HOOSIER HUTCHThis Auction is for a 1938 Hoosier Hutch. The Hutch stands 69.6" tall when assembled. The bottom stands 31", 23" deep and 40" wide. the top is 38.6" tall, 11.4" deep and 40" wide. The Hutch was originally painted beige and much of that paint is intact beneath the coat of yellow that is pealing off, and the coat of aqua on the doors. The original paint is stable with no visible peeling. it appears that the original coat was an oil based paint the the second coat (yellow) was an acrilic, thus it peels off readily. T is some wear on the enamel counter top (see photos), but is minor and adds character. The enamel is baked onto a stainless steel retractible top. The bottom of which is stamped, BENJAMIN CRYSTEEL STAINLESS / 6-26-38. The bottom portion of the hutch appears to have all of it's original handles and latches, the top is missing handles on two drawers and the original roll-top. It does however have the flour dispenser intact and in working order. Picture #10 is of the original delivery tag or bill of laden. I have enjoyed ad treasured this piece, but I am moving to a smaller place and have no room for it. It would be a great display piece in any home or commercial venue.
