1938 KELLOGG Cereal Advertising Premium Poster

In 1938, the Kellogg Cereal Company of Battle Creek, Michigan, offered 6 different color lithographs featuring Snap, Crackle, and Pop in well-known nursery rhyme scenes. These could be purchased for 49 cents by sending in the offer from the cereal box. I have 3 of these original posters for sale (please see my site for the other 2). This one is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (my own favarite of the 3), a darling image of one of the guys (I don't know who is Snap, Crackle, or Pop) at night in his pajamas with a lit candle in his hand. He stands before a dark fairy tale castle, gazing up at the bright star above it. The colors are brilliant and gorgeous. The name of the nursery rhyme is in block letters on the bottom of the picture, and at the bottom left corner of the picture is the artist's name, "Vernon Grant" in very faint lettering. On the bottom white border is written: "Picture set no. 1 consists of the following titles:--Little Jack Horner, Peter Peter Pumkin Eater, Jack and Jill, Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jack Be Nimble." The lower right corner is marked: "Copyright 1938, Kellogg Company, Battle Creek, Michigan. Printed in U.S.A." It appears to be printed on linen/heavy paper.
