1938 SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT 221-1 SEWING / QUILTING MACHINE - "Scroll-Face" #AF080363 Portable Singer Electric Sewing Machine, model 221, for family use with foot control, manufactured October, 10 th , 1938 in Singer's Elizabethport Factory in Elizabeth, New Jersey. All cords are excellent condition as is the machine. It is in the original hard-case (minor wear, and with a keen metal replacement handle) that locks and comes complete with all of the original attachments, lubricating oil, owner's manual, etc. T is an extra Accessories box with extra wooden spools, original needles, replacement bobbins, Vintage sewing kit accessories, etc. I've set the machine up, plugged it in, and it sews like a DREAM! The light even works after all these years. It is especially designed for operation by electricity, having a catalog 3-100 electric motor attached to the rear part of its bed. The motor drives the machine through a belt and the speed is regulated by a foot controller. It is also equipped with an electric SINGERLIGHT. Own your own highly sought after Singer Feather Weight Portable Electronic sewing machine! If you own one you prize it. This one is spectacularly clean! Last Serviced in 2004, then put into storage. READY TO USE! Works perfectly! Comes with Original Machine Case and RARE Leather Accessories Case, Original users Manual with Singer attachments and MANY many extras!!! Electronic Foot Pedal and Rubber Belt in PERFECT condition - Original 1938 Manual included, with an easy to use step-by-step guide for using and maintaining your Singer Featherweight. This machine is in beautiful shape and the finish is near perfect with only the most minor wear to the Black Enamel floor (see photos). Hard to find any flaws with it. It looks and runs, well as they say, "like a sewing machine". Silver Scroll Face Plaque and Gold Enamel detailing in is near mint condition and only adds to the beauty of this machine. At last servicing, they fully cleaned and lubed the machine, adjusted the timing, installed new felts, new light bulb and a new belt. They then test sewed with it as they do with all their machines. The case is also in good shape with normal wear; Leather Handle was replaced, but has all the original latches, hinges and hardware. Works perfectly.
