1938 5TH ANNUAL NON-PROFESSIONAL RODEO, VICTORVILLE, CA, SOUVENIR PROGRAM

Up for auction is this great program chronicling the 5th Annual Non-Professional Rodeo at Santa Fe Park, Victorville, California, on October 14-16, 1938; "REAL COWBOYS IN REAL COWBOY SPORTS." The rodeo was known for many hollywood stars being involved. The Honorary Advisory Committee included: Rex Bell, Wallace Berry, Jack Benny, Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, Clark Cable, Groucho Marx, Tex Ritter and more. Their names are listed on the first page. The cover shows the past four Rodeo Queens--Anne Rivers, Jeanne Godshall, Mary Rose Case, and Patricia Dexter. The back cover features Congressman Harry R. Sheppard. It includes a Program of Events, Contestants and Numbers, small stories on Big Bear Lake, Joshua Forest, Barstow, and many period ads. T are great photos of Lone Wolf, famous Indian artist and western painter, World Champion John Bowman, Champion Bull Rider Canada Kid, Monte Montana and his troupe, Homer Holcomb and his trained mule, Abe Lefton, Rex Bell, Champion Steer Roper Andrew Jauregi, plus more great action rodeo shots.

The program is in MINT condition, no tears, folds or stains. The size is 7 1/2 x 10 x1/2 inches with a total of 40 B&W pages.
