He was the youngest member of the group of modernist painters who explored the depiction of real life. He is most famous for his numerous paintings of New York and the theater and of various aspects of luxury and modern life inspired by his home in New York City. I can't think of an illustrator who has done the job better.Sturdy red buckram covered boards with gilt titles in stamped white box on spine and front.Gilt decorated border in gilt of holly. All edges stained red. Decorated endpages. This book has a De Luxe Binding (according to the front flap of the dust jacket, which is missing.) 9 3/8" x 7 3/8
