There are other movies from this estate showing dates of 1939 so I'm going off those to date this movie. It could also be 1940, I'm not sure. This is a full 5 inch reel of color film beginning with the St. Louis Zoo which quickly moves onto Sportsman's Park to the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Yankees game. Great footage on the field some pre-game entertainment, behind the backstop watching pitchers warm up, views from above in the press box of the game action. See photos for numbered players movie shots. An older gentleman whom I couldn't place a name to. - Yankee catcher #8 and Hall of Famer Bill Dickey is in action. - Yankee pitcher #21 Spud Chandler in action. - Yankee outfielder #9 Charlie Keller in action. - Cardinal catcher #15 Herman Franks in action. - Other Cardinals close up but no number to identify them. Movie plays clear and one can see numbers and faces of the players. The majority is the baseball game from various vantage points. The end of the movie is a trip to Washington D.C. in the spring showing the cherry blossoms in bloom and the various monuments, capital. Great footage. Any questions please ask. Best Bidding!
