For auction is an original 1939 WW2 German K98 BAYONET with MATCHING NUMBERS . This piece would complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly.

Blade

Marked E.PACK&S. . It was made by Ernst Pack und Sohne in Solingen, Germany in 1939 . Manufacturers displayed their names on these bayonets only between late 1937 and early 1940. Any of these bayonets from the 1930's are hard to come by. Blade spine is marked 39 for 1939 . Marked with serial number 569 j . Obviously, three-digit serial numbers are more rare than the typical four-digit. Marked with five Waffenampts (factory proof marks). T are two Eagles and WaA253 stampings on the rear of the pommel, one Eagle partially visible under the rear of the flashguard, one Eagle and WaA253 stamping on the release button, and one Eagle and WaA253 stamping on the inside part of the release mechanism. The grips are black bakelite. The blade has not been sharpened. Almost all of the factory original finish remains on the blade. The only missing finish is from going in and out of the scabbard. T are some scratches in the blade's finish as can be seen in the last picture. T are similar scratches on the other side. T is some blood staining and light pitting on the tip. The very tip is slightly rounded. The finish on the handle metal is worn somewhat, mostly on the crosspiece.

Scabbard

Marked with the same markings: E.PACK&S. 1939 and 569 j . The finial or ball end is stamped with a Waffenampt Eagle and WaA253 . The blade slides in and out perfectly. The spring screw is missing. T are dings and scratches. Most of the finish is heavily worn.
