1939-1940 NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR TREASURY UNIFORM JACKET, MINT, NEVER WORN - NO RESERVE!
We're back! Many thanks to all our faithful past customers. We're happy to be back with estate-fresh selections, all new to the market. Please check our other auctions for lots of odd and fascinating items. This ladies' uniform jacket came directly from the factory that made it. It's never been worn. It is tan with orange and blue accents. It has orange epaulets trimmed with blue, anchored with orange bakelite buttons that have three-dimensional Trylon and Perisps on them. The front of the jacket has three larger brass-plated or brass-colored buttons, also with raised Trylons and Perisps. The collar is trimmed in blue and orange. T is an orange strip on the breast pocket that says, "Treasury" in blue. The patch on the left shoulder is orange with blue embroidery depicting the Trylon and Perisp The patch says, "1940", also in blue. T are two front pockets with flaps. The sleeve hems have been basted, to allow for custom tailoring when the jacket reached its owner. The stripes that go onto the sleeves have not yet been sewn on because that has to be done after the sleeves are shortened. They are currently residing in the breast pocket. The jacket is lined in pale green satin. Inside, t's a label that says, "Made expressly for..." with space for a name and date. This tag is stamped, "12". T are many hand stitched details on the jacket, including dress shields, covered in matching green satin, in the lining. The approximate measurements are: 22 inches back length, 16 inches across the chest from side seam to side seam, 15 1/2 inches from side seam to side seam across the back.
