1939 New York World’s Fair Personal Photographs never published or released. These were taken by someone that was involved in the design of the fair. This is a collection of 166 photos of the NY Worlds Fair from the start of construction in 1937 to the demolition in 1941 and in between. Some of the most popular business with their expo buildings such as Ford, Wonder (bread) Bakery, General Electric, American Telephone & Telegraph (AT&T), Firestone, National Cash Register, Elgin Watches, Coty and more…. Odd & wonderful side shows – Nature’s Mistakes, Olga the Headless Woman, Dream of Venus. Dance pavilion called Dancing Campus with famous musicians like Tommy Dorsey, Gene Krupa, Glen Miller and a Jitterbug Contest! Wonderful Greyhound Tour Bus (five cents), old cars and trucks, even a photograph of the Yankee Clipper ship! The Perisphere and Trylon, Helicline many pictures again from the construction phase onwards. There are photos of just about everything from the construction of some buildings to the demolition of them. Many views of entire areas, rides, statues, sideshow monkey in a hula skirt, to caged women (LOL) in a “photo op” area. The opening day parade floats made by the companies that had expos at the fair. There are also a couple military photos and a flag ceremony. Also included are some photos of dignitaries including the Govenor of Hawaii. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own such a fantastic history in photographs. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
