This is an auction for a 1939 Rookwood Matte Glaze Vase. This piece features a Kataro Shirayamadani-designed art deco stylized wheat motif. The bottom has the famous flame and reverse 'R' Rookwood logo, as well as the date mark XXXIX (1939) and the numbers 6596. This piece is a beautiful sea green color that gets lighter to highlight the 'grains' of the wheat stalks. This vase stands 8.5" tall. Top opening is 2.25" and the base is 2.5". This vase has no cracks, chips or repairs of any sort. A very nice piece of American art pottery in excellent condition. Please look carefully at the supersized pictures and ask any and all questions before bidding.
