TIM by Jesse Stuart "Rare" FIRST EDITION 1939 Little Man Magazine,� Cincinatti, OH. 1939. "Rare" First Edition. Illustrated by Charles Atkinson.� Good condition, although the covers are split from the stapled spine. This� is a specialty item for collectors of Jesse Stuart. Tim has had an� interesting and unique history including four separate printings. Written in� the late 1920s when Stuart was a student at Lincoln Memorial University, it� was not published for another decade in 1939 as a story in Little Man� magazine,. The later edition in book form was not printed till 1968 by the� Kentucky Writers' Guild and the few scarce copies of that edition sell for� hundreds of dolars. This is the First Very Rare Original Edition. 34 pages� complete and unmarked. Jesse Hilton Stuart � (1906 – 1984) was an American writer who is known for writing short stories,� poetry, and novels about Southern Appalachia. Born and raised in Greenup� County, Kentucky, Stuart relied heavily on the rural locale of northeastern� Kentucky for his writings. Stuart was named the poet laureate of Kentucky in� 1954.
