Seven years after the inaugural Midsummer Classic, the National League blanked the Junior Circuit 4-0 at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis in the 1940 All-Star Game. And thanks to legendary baseball photographer George Brace, over 40 of the game's very best that season signed this book, which is in rough condition with major folds and loose pages, but the signatures make this an important item. They include: Walters, Stengel, Herman, Williams, Ruffins, Appling, Durocher, Hubbell, Lavagetto, DiMaggio, Keltner,, Rolfe, Ott, Boudreau, Vaughan and Max West, who shined in this game, belting a three-run homer in the first inning that accounted for 75% of the game's scoring. The ink signatures average 8/10 with some very strong. A wonderful piece of history!
