What an original beauty and rare find this one is....It is an early authenic 1940's "SEA VIEW INN" RESTAURANT MENU from "HALEIWA BEACH, OAHU, HAWAII". You really don't see many vintage ones like this one that are not from Honolulu. Check out the great looking cover on it featuring a beautiful sunset scene which looks like an inlaid photograph of the beach at Haleiwa. The graphics on it are outstanding it really gives the menu a unique and very special attractive appearance. Also note the large Sea View Inn name on it with an early phone number on it says "Phone 2 Blue 703". What an early and unique old phone number it is. The back cover is very nice as well it has palm trees and what looks like "Diamond Head" shown in the background. The Menu is a nice display size it measures 11 3/4 x 9 inches in the open position. The menu is made of a heavy card stock. The inside has paper residue on it mostly confined to the menu edges. It appears that the menu had a "price change", or some sort of "Special Of The day" that had attached pages stuck to it covering the printed menu items and prices. The covered pages were removed but left some paper residue around the edges....they are still readable can see thru the remaining paper that is still stuck to it. The menu has an additional seperate sheet that has menu items and prices on it as well that was inserted in it..see pic. The seperate menu page has a Nov. 8 date on it...no year...I guess they figured that they knew what year it was. the border edge has some tape mark w probably removed from a keepsake album/book...no tears or cuts..covers are in good condition all advertising , printing, graphics and colors all very good. It is definatelly guaranteed to be circa early to mid 1940's especially with a 1/2 boiled lobster price of 65 to 85 cents, Sirloin steak at $1.25. Even with the paper residue on it...it is a real beauty and will definately be a prized addition for your early original menu collection and historical old Hawaii collectibles.
