For your consideration is this interesting collection of 1940 New York World's Fair press club ID cards and press club admission tickets in the original navy vinyl wallet owned and signed by Edward Anthony. Edward Anthony 1895-1971 was a famous journalist, writer, and publicity director for Herbert Hoover's presidential campaign. He co-authored Frank Buck's first two books: Bring 'em Back Alive and Wild Cargo. One of these books was made into a movie. He also co-authored animal trainer and circus promoter Clyde Beatty's The Big Cage. His career also included publisher of Woman's Home Companion and Collier's Magazine. The collection consists of the following: 1940 NY World's Fair Press Identification Card for Ed Anthony King Features Syndicate, Inc. enclosed under clear plastic in a navy blue vinyl wallet. It is not signed. 50 attached Press admission tickets in a booklet with cardboard backing that slips into the wallet. Two tickets were removed from the top layer. 1940 General Motors/Futurama Press Club Membership Card. This card has a strong signature of Edward Anthony in green ink. 1940 National Press Club Washington, D.C. Membership Card. Mr. Edward Anthony is written on the card but this was not written by Mr. Anthony. THIS COLLECTION COMES DIRECTLY FROM THE ESTATE OF EDWARD ANTHONY. Condition: In very good vintage condition. The two staples on the admission ticket booklet have rust. The General Motors & National Press Club cards have a some soils, creases, and water marks. The King Features Syndicate Press card was protected under the clear plastic cover of the wallet and is in the best conditio. The outside of the wallet has some indentations. Please refer to photos for further detail. I am currently and will soon be listing more items from Edward Anthony and the 1939-40 New York World's Fair. Shipping insurance based on the winning bid will be added to the invoice. Therefore, please wait to be invoiced by me (not automatic Ebay invoice).
