Item Description: 1940 Play Ball #1 - Joe DiMaggio ...this card is one of the holy grails of all sports card collecting; it is more sought after than all but a couple of Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle cards, and is more sought after than even the 1939 Play Ball DiMaggio card. Don't believe me, research it yourself. This is an absolutely spectacular card that I'm only willing to part with due to higher priorities (noted above). Also, I should note that all auctioned items are guaranteed and all items selling for a significant value are mailed insured at no extra cost to you. Condition: This card shows some obvious wear, but is in overall very nice condition, especially for a card over 50 years old. I'd say the corners are rounded, not just blunt, but they are certainly not severely rounded, as the rounding doesn't even come close to impinging on the border; the centering is nice left-to-right, but off a bit top-to-bottom; and t is some general wear otherwise... minor surface wear, moderate edge wear, etc... but nothing serious. T is one crease, but it is on the back and so minimal that it does not come through to the front at all... and it is so light you can barely even see it in the scan (look in the lower left on the back). All in all, this card clearly shows some signs of its age but is, nonetheless, in quite nice condition. I will be listing tons of other great items soon, be sure to check my other auctions frequently! And, yes, I will combine shipping... $5 for the first auction won, $1 each additional auction.
