1940 Pony Express Anniversary Desk Pen FDR Roosevelt To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Pony Express, this solid mahogany desk top pen holder was issued to Postmasters around the country. This one is engraved to Sue V. Shannon, Postmaster, Elephant Butts, N. Mexico. The image of FDR, and (I assume) the current Postmaster General are imprinted onto the brass plaque, along with the label stating the 80th Anniversary Pony Express 1940. I do not have the original pens. T are small chips throughout the lacquered finish, but doesn't seem to have affected the wood. Measures 14" long, by 7" deep, and 3" tall.
