1940’sWarren Spahn Braves George Burke Original Photo Possibly Taken During SPAHN’S Rookie Season of 1942 Brilliant Color GEORGE BRACE / GEORGE BURKE Original BASEBALL Photo Players Name & Notes Identified on Reverse Side in Brace’s Personal Handwriting ORIGINAL REAL PHOTO Measures Approximately 5” Across x 7” High OUTSTANDING Overall Condition Originally Purchased from the George Burke and George Brace Collection in 2012 Sold by the Daughter of George Brace after her Father’s Death This Exact Photo was then Auctioned through Leland’s Auction House in 2014 For 65 years, George Brace's camera captured historic moments in Chicago Baseball From 1929 to 1994, Brace snapped nearly every series at Wrigley and Comiskey Park George Burke enlisted Brace as a teen apprentice, and they formed a lifelong tandem Burke taught Brace photography as they took photos of the Cubs, White Sox & Bears Mr. Brace was at baseball's first All-Star Game in 1933 Chicago, saw Ruth's famous "called shot" and photographed Jackie Robinson in his debut season
