1940 WWII U.S. NAVY QUARTERMASTERS MARK 1 16X SPY GLASS

Spyglass measures 31" long and weighs about 8# and is in great condition. It looks like it is made of black enameled covered brass with a black shark skin covering. Optics work great.

Spyglass is embossed: U. S. Navy, Bu. Ships, QM. 16 Power, Mk. I No. 1016, 1940 .

Oak fitted box measures 5" x 5" x 34" and weighs approx.16# including the spy galss. It is in very good condition but with minor bumps and scratches and has one green felt covered internal spyglass support missing. It has dovetailed corners with brass screws, latches and hinges.

The box has an embossed brass nameplate recessed and attached with brass screws that states: U.S.N. Bu. of SHIPS, 16 Power, Quartermaster, SPYGLASS MK1, Serial No. 18354, Wollensak Optical Company, Rochester, N.Y. USA 1942 .

Will package spyglass securly utilizing bubble wrap, but this is an optical devise and while optics are perfect now to safeguard investment, shipping insurance is strongly suggested..
