1940 Queenstown New Zealand 52 X 27 Wool Rug / Wall Hanging. My Late Uncle was stationed in New Zealand in the 40's WWII, he loved the country and brought back this rug as a memory I am only going by the year he was in New Zealand to age this, It very well can be older... He may NOT have gotten it New. For it's advanced age it is in Fine condition, it is sturdy with only some minor issues, at top left there are two small holes where the tag was sewn, and at one corner there is fraying, missing wool. There was carpet tape applied to short side edges to prevent fraying. The back has water marks. However none of the issues effect the strength of this rug. There is no visible moth damage. Crystal clear pristine scene, snow capped mountains green dense forest dotted with cabins all surrounding a china blue lake. This would be nice displayed on a wall or on a cedar chest, or lovely on a hardwood floor. If you are from New Zealand or you simply love the country this will make a worthy addition to your home.
