RARE MINT TO NEAR MINT 1940's ALLIED MFG CO, SEATTLE, WASH, RED C2 KIT CAT KLOCK Kit Kat Clock, NO BOW TIE AND NO UPPER PAWS , METAL BACK PLATE ORIGINAL CONDITION FIRST GENERATION IN EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION!!!!!! This First Generation Kit Kat Clock is the clock that KIT CAT KLOCK Connoisseurs spend their lives looking for! It is in as near to mint condition that you can get without being unused. The only flaws to mention are one missing screw out of four that holds the metal plate on the back, a bit of scratching on that metal back plate, and maybe you could find some wear on his toe paint if you really got scientific about it. But t is absolutely no damage to the case and no fading. I have cleaned it spotlessly outside. The numbers on the clock face are brilliant. The face is in remarkably good condition. The back plate still has all four black plastic wall protectors in it. The photos speak for themselves. And to top it off, it seems to keep perfect time. I have had it running for a couple of days and it is staying true to the minute! The tail and eyes move smoothly. I have taken it all apart and cleaned it moderately inside. Older Kit Cat Klocks have their clockworks welded inside a metal frame that prevents a total breakdown of parts, and since it was working so well, I didn't want to mess with perfection. The motor seems original, though the wire that came on it was only 1 foot long and a replacement cord. I exchanged it with a longer and original cord from a 1950's D8 Kit Cat Klock to bring the clock back to a more original state. The tail is plastic and it is original. It is fully marked with "Allied Mfg Co, Seattle Wash, 115 Volts, 60 Cycles 3 Watts, Model C2" on the metal back as well as the serial number "B20027". This electric C2 clock is also highly sought after among Kit Cat Klocks because it was the first color introduced after black. T is a clock exactly like this one in the Kit Cat Klock Museum and pictured in the Kit Cat Web Site. to find out more about the history of America's Most Loved Clock and compare this one to the mint Museum specimen. Not much difference other than a box! It's condition is truly remarkable! Clock measures approximately 16 ½" from tip of ear to bottom of tail. What a great retro kitchen clock for both nostalgic and cutting edge designer kitchens! No Reserve and Low Shipping with Insurance Included! /kitcathistory.htm
