1940s CHUPP ROTOR-FLYER CAPTIVE AUTOGYRO PLANE KITE KIT Description : This auction is for a very hard to find Chupp Rotor-Flyer Captive Auto-Giro Model H that dates to the 1940's. T is a full kit included plus most of another kit. We included the partial set so that t would be some spare parts for the winning bidder. T were no original instructions but I was able to find a set that was remastered and posted online in a PDF format. We will include a printed copy of the instructions. You can also download and look at them right now if you would like more info about the model. is a link: /p_leriche/chupp/autogiro.pdf We assembled the model just far enough to get some pictures of what it looks like. It is made to break back down as it is stored in a tube. Assembled it measures 25 inches long, 42 inches wide and the rotors are 17" long. The model even includes the special rotor pins. We used wire to put them on to make it easier to dissassemble, but the pins are with the kit. The components are in good condition. The original storage tubes are included and as you can see from the pictures they do show signs of wear. After doing a little digging I was able to find an advertisement that was in a 1947 Popular Mechanics for the kit. (See the last picture) It's original cost was $4.95 back in 1947. It was not a cheap toy at the time. read more
