VINTAGE HUMMEL CHIMNEY SWEEP signed with incised wide crown 1934-1950 trademark The provenance is excellent because the original owner bought this in Germany in the 1950's. Every once in a while you will discover a treasure on eBay -- we consider this to be one of those times. This winsome Hummel chimney sweep boy stands on a white base, yet he is clearly is on the move to fulfilling a job only he could do -- cleaning the chimneys of large manors and castles in Europe. This is an historic piece depicting the job that so often the poorer boys were asked to do in days gone by. He is a happy and adorable boy -- we could take a real lesson from him. He has the wide crown incised mark of 1934-1950 on the bottom, along with a couple of letters and "38". This gorgeous Hummel figurine is in excellent condition. He measures a nice 5 1/2" tall.
