De La Rue ONOTO 1940s Model 5601 Vintage Hard Rubber Piston Fill Fountain Pen Excellent Condition For Age Thepen writes medium but in keeping with Onoto pen nibs it has a soft action and writing results depend very much on the writer and he or she applies the pen to paper. Measures 5 inches capped and 6 1/4 inches posted. Nib. Original gold nib engraved "De la Rue - Onoto 14c- London - 3/st" - with a very good polished finish. Barrel. Lightly engraved "ONOTO THE PEN - De La Rue & Co Ltd London". Barrel in excellent condition with no dings or marks but please note that the barrel has changed colour - as normal for pens of this age and material. Piston fill cap at base is the same colour as the barrel and is engraved 5601 45 . Section. Excellent with no dings or marks and retains it's original colour. Cap. The cap is the same colour as the barrel with band and clip in excellent condition. Restoration. The pen has been fitted with a new washer and seals then very gently polished and plunger filler and write tested. Overall. An excellent 1940s vintage Onoto pen, which will grace any collection or be perfect for everyday use. Postage. Will be dispatched in a crush proof container and sent "signed for".
