1940's Vintage German Putz Nativity Manger & Figurines This Christmas Nativity set was just found in an estate sale. Every piece is marked Germany except the baby Christ Child. This is a very old set form the 1940's . The figurines and manger are very nicely detailed with some slight damage to some of the figurines. Overall this German made Nativity Scene is in Excellent to Very Good Condition and I'm sure it will add warmth to your holiday decor.!!! Description of each piece is as follows: 1) Woolly Lamb: The Lamb is 3 ¾ inches tall x 3 ¾ inches long. Lamb is made of all wool with a composition or Pa-pier-mac-he material head and wood stick legs, excellent condition. Germany stamped on left front leg. 2) The Manger: approximately 11 ½" wide by 8 ½" tall at its tallest point and 5 ½" deep. The manger is made of wood with a composition material back and roof. The manger is in excellent condition and has a white GERMANY stamp on back in the lower left corner 3 ) The Christ Child: 2 ¼ inches tall x 1 inch wide. Only piece not marked Germany and looks to be made of plaster. His feet are damaged. 4 ) Chris Crib: 2 ½ inches tall x 2 ½ inches wide. All made of wood, excellent condition. Germany stamped on side. 5 ) Mary: She is kneeling and is 4 ½ inches tall x 2 inches wide at the base. She is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material, excellent condition. Germany , stamped on side 6 ) Joseph: He is also kneeling and is 4 ½ inches tall x 2 inches wide at the base. He is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material. Small paint chips on underside of base. Germany stamped on base. 7 ) Shepherd: He is carrying a lamb. He is 6 ¼ inches tall x 2 ¾ inches wide at base. He is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material, excellent condition. Germany stamped on base. 8 ) Wise man 1: He is dress in a green and gold robe. He is 5 ¼ inches tall x 2 inches wide at the base. He is carrying a challis and has a small paint chip on his robe left shoulder. He is and of made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material, excellent condition. Germany stamped on base. 9 ) Wise man 2: He is dress in a red robe. He is 4 ½ inches tall x 2 inches wide at the base. He is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material, excellent condition. Germany stamped on base. 10) Angle: She is kneeling. She is 4 inches tall x 1 ¾ inches wide at the base. She is made of made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material, excellent condition. Germany stamped on base. 11) Ox: The Ox is 5 ½ inches long x 3 ½ inches tall. The Ox's left horn is missing and has a paint chip missing from its tail. The Ox is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material with wood stick legs. Germany stamped on base. 12) Donkey: The Donkey is 2 ½ inches tall x 4 ¾ inches long. The Donkey has a paint chip on his tail. The Donkey is made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material. Germany stamped on base. 13) Camel: The Camel is 5 ¾ inches tall x 5 ¾ inches long. The camel has a chip on his rear hump. The Camel is made of made of a composition or pa-pier-mac-he material with wood stick legs. Germany stamped on base.
