For auction is an original 1941 WW2 German K98 BAYONET with MATCHING NUMBERS . This piece would complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly. Please check out the Leather Frog that came with this bayonet. It is listed separately. Blade Marked 41 fnj . It was made by Alexander Coppel GmbH (Alcoso) in Solingen, Germany in 1941 . "fnj" is the war-time code used by this manufacturer. Marked with serial number 7763 O . Marked with five Waffenampts (factory proof marks). T are two Eagle and WaA883 stampings on the rear of the pommel, one Eagle and WaA883 stamping partially visible under the rear of the flashguard, one Eagle and WaA883 stamping on the release button, and one Eagle and WaA883 stamping on the inside part of the release mechanism. The grips are black bakelite. The blade has not been sharpened. The blueing on the blade is a nice, deep, dark color. The only missing finish is from going in and out of the scabbard and from some tip usage. T is some original finish left on the handle metal. T are some minor nicks in the edge. T is blood etching/pitting on the blade w it rests against the internal scabbard spring and at the very tip. T is a small "cut" in the handle just above the release button.
