This 1941, original linen-backed movie poster is museum condition. Linen Backing is theaccepted form of preservation and restoration of original vintage movie postersand other artwork. The process involves fixing the poster to a Japanese Masa paperwith an acid free paste and the Masa paper to acid free linen/canvas. Duringthe process the poster is usually cleaned and de-acidified, a trained restorationexpert erasing all fold-lines and imperfections, even removing imperfectionssuch as water stains and ink. Linen backing is technically reversible,providing the correct paste has been used. Themajority of linen backers are based in the USA with one or two others inEngland, France and Australia. L inen backing enhances the appearance of a movie poster makingit easier to frame and more appealing. Linen backing adds to the value of posters. However, prior tothe backing, these posters were in excellent condition, properly stored andcared for. Mister District Attorney in the Carter Case stars James Ellison and Virginia Gillmore, and was directed by Bernhard Vorhaus; original screenplay written by Sidney Sheldon.
