HANK GREENBERG (HOF) GAI 4 VG/EX+ DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a really nice 1941 Play Ball card of Detroit HOF'er Hank Greenberg, it follows his monster A.L. MVP season of 1940, and has been graded a GAI 4, VG/EX by GAI, one of the leading grading companies in the business. This beautiful Greenberg card is 1 of the key cards from this outstanding set, is in great overall condition, presents itself very well, has a nice, super clean appearance, and features: sharp, VG/EX- corners and EX++ borders (top corners are slightly dinged, but overall EX+, was bottom corners are rounded, dinged, and minutely creased); VG+ centering from top to bottom and EX++ from left to right; super sharp, EX+ focus, registration, and clarity; and bold, beautiful color. The front of the card is essentially spotless, other than some small and extremely faint smudge marks in the background of the front near Hank's hands and the middle of his bat. The back of the card is clean and very well centered. Other than the bottom corner issues I described above, the card appears to me to be crease and wrinkle free. Overall, this is a very, very nice, KEY vintage card from an always popular set, and a "must" for all you Hank Greenberg fans out t I believe this really sweet and HIGHLY presentable Hank Greenberg Play Ball card is nothing short of high end for the assigned grade.
