We have for this week, one of the Most Diserable of all US. WWII Shovels. It is the T handle marked U. S. Ames 1942 and it comes with an absolutely mint 1942 dated cover. The cover has no rips or tears spots or any discoloration, it is Darkly Marked KADIN 1942 on one side asnd US on the other. I don't believe a better shape cover is available any w for any price. The Shovel itself is in very good + condition, it has been used but is in Great Shape, it does not appear to have been painted at any time. T is no rust on the metal parts and the wooden parts are strong and sound. This has to be the rarest of all WWII U.S. shovels, far more hard to get than the folding type and made only at the start of WW II, it is the exact same as used in WWI, just with a later date, I don't believe a better maker than Ames, as they are the sword people, since the civil war. This is one fine investment piece, the way original WW II field gear is moving up the price ladder, it won't be long before an Amer T Handle in this condition will be unaffordable. You are not going to see many of these for sale at all, especially in this fine a condition. Missing form most collections, don't wait for the next one to come along t might not be a next for a very long time. Thank you for viewing our auction.
