(Works Progress Administration) artist, painter, and illustrator Ben Shahn (1898-1969) . It was printed by the Government Printing Office for the War Information Board, and is dated 1942. It depicts a German gang rounding up Frenchmen for forced labor in the Third Reich. The poster measures 40" x 28.25" and is and was machine folded for sending thru the mail, as all of these military posters were. Condition: as seen in supersize pics, would be beautiful linen mounted. It is not mounted in any way to anything, simply a paper poster. T is very little paper loss, does have a 4 inch tear with very little paper loss. I have photographed all the corners and tears for you. Shahn was a well known political, social justice and propaganda mural painter and illustrator. His painting work and paintings are highly sought after, as well as his illustrative and graphic art of the FDR Franklin Roosevelt New Deal, depression era. The poster will be folded as it was and sent flat. Please email me for any further questions. I have over 850 positive feedbacks. Thank you, Debra
